Recipe Description
Perhaps an acquired taste, the Moonlight is in the same category as the Aviation: both gorgeous colors, not too sweet and with a bit of Creme Yvette or Creme de Violette for an unusual flavor that appeals to the sophisticated (read: fatigued) palette.
Ingredients
-
1.5 ounce Dry Gin
Normally I like Plymouth with something like this & it would do very nicely, but I'm here to tell you, I just made a Moonlight with Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin and it was the best Moonlight I've ever had 🤯...update: I just made one with Nolet's Silver Dry Gin and THAT was the best Moonlight I've ever had! (Maybe I just love Moonlights?) - 0.5 ounce Cointreau
-
0.5 ounce Creme de Violette or Creme Yvette
I prefer Creme de Violette - 0.5 ounce fresh lime juice
Preparation
Put a Nick and Nora or other similar glass in the freezer while you prepare the cocktail. Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake thoroughly. Remove the glass from the freezer, strain the cocktail into the glass and toast…à votre santé!
